Fundación Laboral de la Construcción talks about the ‘Construye 2030’ project on Capital Radio

The Fundación Laboral de la Construcción, as coordinator of the project, presented the objectives and results of the ‘Construye 2030’ project on Capital Radio during the Feria de Universidad Pyme in Madrid, organised by FUNDAE at the Congress Palace of IFEMA on 26th and 27th October.

The radio station had its own space within the fair, in which it interviewed the people who participated in the event as panellists in the different spaces organised for presentations.

José Joaquín Flechoso, host of the programme, interviewed Esther Rodríguez, technician of the ‘Construye 2030’ project at the Fundación Laboral de la Construcción, about the objectives of the project initiative and the conclusions reached in the ‘Study on the current panorama of the construction sector’, developed within the framework of the project.

During the talk, Europe’s interest in ensuring that the building sector complies with the climate objectives was highlighted, as well as the importance of adequate training for professionals who design and implement energy renovations and nearly zero energy buildings. As Esther Rodríguez pointed out, according to the PNIEC, the construction sector is responsible for 40% of greenhouse gas emissions.

Therefore, it is crucial that the professionals who act throughout the sector’s value chain have the necessary skills in energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies, among others, to ensure that buildings demand as little energy as possible.

José Joaquín Flechoso was interested in the digital skills currently in demand in the sector, which according to the ‘Construye 2030’ study could be summarised as: BIM, digital project management, digital twins or home automation. To these competences, Esther Rodríguez added the so-called soft-skills, i.e. professional attitudes that go beyond the knowledge itself, such as: collaborative work, autonomy or acting responsibly.
