BUILD UP Skills project partners ‘Construye 2030’ organise second project meeting

The partners of the BUILD UP Skills ‘Construye 2030‘ project, co-funded by the European Commission’s LIFE Clean Energy Transition programme, met today for the second time at the headquarters of the CSIC’s Eduardo Torroja Institute of Construction Sciences (IETcc-CSIC) to present the state of the initiative’s results and put the finishing touches to the first seminar with experts.
This event, which took place afterwards, is part of the ‘Construye 2030’ consultation actions with sectoral experts to find out about the current barriers to achieving Europe’s energy objectives.
During the partners’ meeting, the progress of the sector’s Status Quo was discussed, which will include the training needs that exist throughout the sector’s value chain and which are essential to achieve the energy performance of buildings, urban sustainability and contribute to the objectives of the 2030 Agenda.
This document would provide a ‘snapshot’ of the current construction sector in Spain, which will help to define the Roadmap, which will include a set of priority measures aimed at training certain construction professions to perform their tasks with sustainable criteria, as well as to re-qualify workers from highly polluting activities (such as mining), and to attract young people and women to the sector.
