On 2 October, the seven partners of the ‘Construye 2030’ project, co-funded by the European Commission’s LIFE Clean Energy Transition programme, met at the premises of the National Construction Confederation (CNC) to share the activities carried out in the second four-month period of the year.
The meeting was welcomed by Mariano Sanz, secretary general of CNC, and Zoe Wildiers, project manager of the European Executive Agency for Climate, Infrastructure and Environment (CINEA), in charge of supervising the ‘Construye 2030’ project.
During the meeting, the results of the project were discussed, as well as the next steps to be taken by the consortium towards a more sustainable industry.
Training roadmap
One of the main outcomes of the project is the development of a Training Roadmap for the sector, which will identify the priority measures aimed at making certain professions in the sector capable of achieving Europe’s sustainable goals and the necessary actors and/or resources.
This document will be elaborated on the basis of the conclusions drawn in the study on ‘The current situation of the construction sector’ and in the working sessions of the experts of the ‘ Construye Network. Training and competences in construction’ (National Qualification Platform).
Construye Network. Training and competences in construction
The partners discussed the National Qualification Platform as a meeting point for professionals from different spheres of construction (political, economic, educational and social) to share their experience on what are and will be the qualification needs in the sector, specifically in: renewable energies, energy efficiency, nearly zero energy consumption buildings, circular economy, digitalization…
It is important to highlight the two dimensions of the national platform, including online and offline activities, which were carried out for the elaboration of the sector study.
During the meeting, the name of the National Qualification Platform was decided: Construye Network. Training and competences in construction.
Stakeholder support for the project
The need to incorporate skilled workers into the construction sector is one of the most important challenges facing the sector and, for this reason, it is very important to involve as many sectoral agents as possible in the project.
So, in July 2023 an information day was held at FUNDAE‘s premises, while at the end of September 2023 another information day was organised at UGT-FICA.
Finally, it was agreed that the fifth meeting of the project would take place on 13 December 2023 at the premises of FUNDAE.
