UGT-FICA organises the III Seminar in support of the BUILD UP Skills project ‘Construye 2030’

On 27 September, the Federación de Industria, Construcción y Agro de la Unión General de Trabajadoras y Trabajadores (UGT-FICA) brought together regional delegates to find out, first hand, what the current training needs of professionals in the construction sector are.

This activity is part of the field research of the ‘Construye 2030’ project, which is carried out through the consultation of experts from different fields, such as trade union, professional, social or educational, making them aware of the BUILD UP Skills initiative and enabling them to contribute their knowledge and experience in the sector.

After the debate, the need to continue promoting training during the working life of professionals was highlighted, as well as the need to encourage qualification through programmes or campaigns that highlight how essential it is to have a workforce that can rehabilitate and construct buildings with greater energy efficiency.

Furthermore, emphasis was placed on the need to improve the image of the sector by launching massive campaigns that have a direct impact on the younger population, as has been done in other industries, such as the defence industry.
