On 11 January, the National Construction Confederation (CNC) organised the V Seminar in support of the BUILD UP Skills ‘Construye 2030‘ project under the title ‘Energy efficiency of buildings and training’, with the participation of representatives of its entities in person and online.
The session featured presentations by Silvia Rafael and Guillermo López, both from the Sub-Directorate General for Energy Efficiency of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, to address, respectively, the modification of the Directive on the energy efficiency of buildings, on which there is already a provisional agreement in the European institutions, and the system of Energy Performance Certificates (EPC).
The session was opened by Mariano Sanz, Secretary General of the CNC. In his speech he highlighted the fundamental role of training and the work carried out by the Fundación Laboral de la Construcción. Having qualified personnel is essential for companies to be able to develop their activity in an increasingly demanding environment, which is largely conditioned by the environmental and climatic challenges that Spain and the European Union have to face, and the regulations derived from them.
Mª Ángeles Asenjo, International Department Director of the CNC, gave a presentation on the Construye 2030 project, whose general objective is to promote and improve training related to energy efficiency of buildings. She explained the expected results: the elaboration of a Status Quo report describing the current situation of the sector in Spain, the development of a Training Roadmap and the deployment of the Construye Network-Training and Competences.
