The National Construction Confederation has held an information session in the framework of the BUILD UP Skills ‘Construye 2030’ project

On 4 June 2024, the National Construction Confederation (CNC) held an information session in the framework of the BUILD UP Skills project ‘Construye 2030’, with the participation of representatives of its member entities in person and online.

The session was attended by Francisco Javier Martín, Director General of Housing and Land of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda, to address the situation of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) in terms of housing and rehabilitation. In his speech, the Director General referred to the course of aid for the residential rehabilitation and social housing programmes set out in Royal Decree 853/2021. He also commented on the line of ICO-Housing loans aimed at increasing the stock of socially rented or affordable housing.

The session was opened by Mariano Sanz, Secretary General of the CNC. He emphasised the importance of the PRTR funds, particularly for the promotion of rehabilitation linked to the improvement of the energy efficiency of homes and buildings. He pointed out that the decarbonisation objectives proposed by the European Union necessarily require action on buildings and, to this end, the sector is firmly committed to training; in this context, the CNC is participating in the Construye 2030 project, co-funded by the European LIFE programme.

The session ended with a presentation by Mª Ángeles Asenjo, Director of the International Department of the CNC, to explain the status of the Construye 2030 project, which will result in: a Status Quo report describing the current situation of the sector in Spain, a Training Roadmap and the development of the Construye-Training and Skills Network.
