The ‘ReNaturalNZEB’ project, co-funded by the LIFE programme of the European Union, organised on 7 November, a conference on ‘Innovative building technologies with a low carbon footprint’ in which other initiatives that contribute to the challenge of achieving climate neutrality by 2050, such as the ‘Construye 2030’ project, were presented.
During the meeting, the European Green Deal, which proposes to reduce the environmental impact in Europe, was discussed. Along these lines, some innovative construction technologies with a low carbon footprint were presented, which favour progress in the knowledge and characterisation of bioproducts and promote their use in the sector as an alternative and part of the solution to the decarbonisation of the planet.
In addition to these topics, the findings of the ‘ReNaturalNZEB’ project in the field of wood, natural and recycled products for construction were also presented, highlighting the synergies carried out with other European initiatives, among which, José Antonio Tenorio, senior scientist at the Instituto Eduardo Torroja de Ciencias de la Construcción (IETcc-CSIC), presented the sustainable objectives of ‘Construye 2030’. Also, a LIFE project, in which sectoral training is pursued to address the challenge of energy transition and the construction of zero energy consumption buildings envisaged in the 2030 Agenda for the sector.
